St. Mark’s may be well known for its witness and work in the wider world, but it is also notable for the many ways we care for and support one another.
The Congregational Care Team facilitates many of our ministries of caring, including:
- Pastoral Care
- Hospitality (congregational celebrations, events and Big Coffee)
- Funeral and Memorial Receptions
- Visitor and New Member Outreach
Working with our Pastor Tracy, the care team offers a listening ear, prayer, encouragement, accompaniment, and referrals and resources where appropriate. If you or someone you know in the congregation would welcome and perhaps benefit from this kind of outreach, please let one of the Session co-moderators know.
We are always looking to build out our care capacity. If you have a heart for serving in ministries of compassion, would enjoy welcoming and engaging with visitors, love to bake, or would just be interested in helping in the kitchen from time to time, please let us know. The commitment is flexible – participate as your schedule allows – but every effort helps to sustain and nourish the congregation in a meaningful way. Your participation would be a blessing!
The Garden Brigade
The Garden Brigade is made up of members and friends of St. Mark’s who noticed that our Campus might be improved by adding some color to its courtyards and surrounds… mainly plants!
The first additions were in the cactus/succulents garden next to the 3rd St. entrance.
It’s a balance to conserve water and add plants to our grounds. Fixing the drip system in the North Courtyard, and adding more plants around the bell tower.
Ishkashitaa Refugee Network is donating composted soil for the venture.
If you have would like to join the Garden Brigade, or want to donate plants or pots, please contact us at stmarksaz@gmail.com
